We are getting out the wool socks and already fighting our first colds. Last year I made up a batch of homemade hot buttered rum mix from a recipe I found over at
Crumbs in My Mustachio and since I had some Fireball on hand,
I had to come up with something interesting.
I drink tea all day long in the cold weather seasons so it seemed natural to try to come up with a little “hot toddy” of a drink when I got my first cold of the season. This is a delicious treat to enjoy while you are curled up on the couch watching a movie.
What is a brine and why should you brine your Thanksgiving turkey this year?
Well, I don’t want to brag or anything but the first year I did a brine for my turkey, it was referred to as the “third most memorable bird” by my father-in-law. In his lifetime.
So you best be brining this year folks.
So what’s a brine?
If you google the word brine it says “a brine is water saturated or strongly impregnated with salt.” Um, I’m not looking to impregnate anything. So let’s just call it a salt water soak.
I am hosting the whole family at our house for Thanksgiving this year…11 adults and 6 kiddos. It’s gonna be big! I’m starting to think about the meal and how I’ll decorate the table. I’ve been coming across some gorgeous free printables online and I had to share some of my favorites. You’ll find everything from place cards, to banners, to dessert tags, to gift cards…the list goes on.
Are you hosting this year?
